Q: What makes SOWANA different from other shea butter brands?
A: SOWANA is more than just shea butter—our products are consciously formulated to care for melanin-rich skin, with powerful botanicals like coconut oil, olive oil, and vitamin E. Plus, we source responsibly and support the communities behind the ingredients.
Q: Is your shea butter raw or refined?
A: We use premium, unrefined shea butter that’s ethically sourced and gently whipped to preserve its nutrients, texture, and natural aroma.
Q: Can your products be used on all skin tones and types?
A: Yes! While our formulas are specifically made to meet the needs of melanated skin, they’re safe, effective, and beneficial for all skin types and tones.
Q: Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
A: Absolutely. Our formulas are gentle, fragrance-free (unless stated), and made without synthetic additives. However, we always recommend doing a patch test first if you have highly sensitive or allergy-prone skin.

Q: Where do your ingredients come from?
A: Our shea butter is sourced directly from women-led cooperatives in Ghana, West Africa, where we ensure ethical practices, traceability, and fair compensation.
Q: Are your products cruelty-free and vegan?
A: Yes, all SOWANA Skincare products are 100% cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. We never test on animals or use animal-derived ingredients.

Q: How long will it take to receive my order?
A: We handcraft each batch and ship within 1–3 business days. Delivery usually takes:

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Yes, we currently ship to selected countries. Shipping costs and times vary by location and are calculated at checkout.
Q: How can I track my order?
A: As soon as your order ships, you’ll receive a tracking number via email. Please allow up to 48 hours for tracking to update.
🌞 TEMPERATURE & TEXTURE QUESTIONS
Q: My shea butter arrived melted—is it still safe to use?
A: Yes! Melting can happen in warmer weather, but it doesn’t affect the quality or effectiveness. Just pop it in the fridge for 15–30 minutes—it may firm up with a different texture, but all the good stuff is still inside.
Q: Why does the texture vary between jars?
A: Since we hand-whip each batch using natural ingredients, slight variations in texture and scent are normal. This is part of the charm—and proof there are no fillers or artificial stabilizers.

Q: Can I modify or cancel my order after placing it?
A: If your order hasn’t shipped yet, we’ll do our best to help. Contact us right away at info@sowanaskincare.com with your order number.
Q: Do you accept returns or offer refunds?
A: Due to the nature of our handmade skincare products, we currently do not accept returns. However, if there’s an issue with your order, please reach out and we’ll do our best to make it right.
